Perfect Wave Gallery is Back!
01/07/07
After a month off as we moved state the Perfect Wave Gallery is back in action. June was spent packing, moving and settling into a new job so I didn't have much time to get photos happening! Now that we've settled in the Gallery is back - this month sees a mixture of images from Maroubra and Snapper Rocks & Rainbow Bay. Hope you enjoy them!
Let's Look After our Beaches
06/05/07
A southerly change blew through Maroubra on 24th of April. The following morning, Anzac Day, I went out early for a walk to capture some images - I thought I'd try Black & White today. For some reason on this particular day I couldn’t help but notice the amount of rubbish washed onto the beach from the storm water.
Later that evening the I was reading Dr. Seuss with my boys. We were reading The Lorax. I was inspired to create a new section called the Lorax, its shows a little of what we are doing to our beaches.
”I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees. I speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues.” The story rolls on. “Let me say a few words about Gluppity-Glupp. Your machinery chugs on, day and night without stop making Gluppity-Glupp. Also Schloppity-Schlopp. And what do you do with this leftover goo?... I’ll show you. You dirty old Oncer-ler man, you! You’re glumping the pond where the Humming-Fish hummed! No more can they hum, for their gills are all gummed.” The story rolls on again to the end. “But now,” says the Once-ler, “Now that you’re here, the word of the Lorax seems perfectly clear. UNLESS someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
Get out there and check out the world around you – its awesome and worth the look. Remember though UNLESS someone like us cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.
