1 Mar 2010 - We awoke yesterday morning to the news that the east coast of Aus could expect to experience a Tsunami at some time through the day... Not a great deal eventuated visually although the reports are that the Gold Coast did experience a 20 cm Tsunami... thoughts and prayers go out to all those in Chile who are affected by the earthquake that generated the Tsunami.

Its was a beautiful day on the coast with a massive high tide... The Quiksilver Pro was put on hold today as a result of the Tsunami warning so no surfing action today.

Round 1 of the event ran on the 27th in 3 - 5 ft of swell at the event site at Snapper Rocks and by the early afternoon low tide the waves were dredging along the edge of the bank creating wicked barrels. Kelly Slater came out early in the day and gave an amazing display and a surfing lesson to the rest of the field. Kelly top scored with a 17++ / 20 in his heat closely followed by Mick Fanning later in the day...

Here's a collection of pics from the day... Have a top week!
