The Daily Splash!
Welcome 2008!
1/01/08
The last weekend of the year really turned it on, with a low pressure system moving slowly down the Queensland coast generating at its peak a 10ft + swell on Sunday the 30th. Saturday the 29th saw a clean swell that presented lots of great opportunities for the surfers and awesome views for beach walkers and watchers alike.
Of course rubbish abounded everywhere and disturbingly I heard a fact (that we probably shouldn't be proud of) from 2 distinct sources - apparently there is an island of rubbish covering approx 910,400 square kilometres floating around the North Pacific Island - that is about 4 times the size of Victoria. If you see rubbish please put it in the bin.
A new feature for the gallery this year with addition of the 'Tid Bits' page. This page will bring more regular updates to the gallery with the best photo from each time I get out making its way onto the gallery.
Enough waffle - have a great day, a great year and get out there and enjoy the world around you - there is plenty to see.
Remember - It's a beautiful day - don't let it get away...
Cheers,
Paul
