Week of 1 Feb 2010 at Snapper
What a welcome relief this week has been....
From absolutely nothing last Friday there’s been a run of waves that now seems to be holding somewhere in the 3 – 5ft range. Saturday was by far the cleanest day we’ve had for along time albeit with tiny waves! With all the sand that has shifted over the last 12 months there has been OK waves off Kirra as well as at Snapper. With the Quikkie Pro fast approaching and a series of top rank events before it there is plenty of quality surfing going down and plenty of people out and about enjoying the show. Checking the forecast it looks like the swell is hanging around for awhile and with only light winds the weekend should be fun! Cheers, PaulSaturday the 6th of Feb - What a great day! Definitely the best day of waves at Snapper Rocks since the storms of last May. Solid in the 4 - 6ft mark probably bigger on the sets and the wind hung in there creating clean conditions for most the day - except for the rain squalls that kept everyone trying to get some images and footage on their toes!
